Executive Committee Meeting Minutes:
Present: Paul
Jacobson, Helmuth Albrecht, Dave Moore, Al May, Scott Sinz, Larry
Lapp, Joel Radke, David Frank, Gary Buss, Al Finder, Wayne Wilson,
Jess Carstens, Chad Mogen, Myron Siler, Dan Prestebak, and Kathy
Schuh
1. National Archery Program in Schools: Elk
Mound-Principle Eric Wright and Phy. Ed Teacher Rena Simpson
presented their proposal. They
would like a donation from us to purchase a starter kit for $2,700.00
– 2,900.00. The Question was brought up if this starter kit
could be shared with other area schools. Eric will contact the
schools and get back to us.
2. Postage online.
Scott made the motion to approve and Larry seconded the motion.
3. Chamber
web site. We have a link to this site but we need to submit our
events on their calendar. Help is need with our website, please
contact Kathy Schuh by phone 233-6216 or email km_schuh@yahoo.com
if you can help.
4. Food Pantry.
Have a donation jar for the Food Pantry at the bar, that we will
match 50%. Have a poster to show amount of donation. Larry made this
motion and Al May seconded it.
5. Beer Cooler.
Have bought a new cooler from Denny’s, they will install
the new one and remove the old one. The final purchase until the
energy audit is done to see if we can a discount or tax credit on
it.
6. Ash Trays.
Paul made the motion to replace all of the ashtrays with new ones.
Scott seconded it. Larry made a motion to buy 3 ashtrays for the
outside, and Kathy seconded it.
7. Energy Audit of
the Club House. Dave Frank made the motion to have Scott start
the audit done on the Clubhouse the price $300.00 to $500.00, Dave
Moore seconded it.
8. Pheasant pen
repairs. Brooder house repair it or replace it. Pookie made the
motion to have Myron remove all of the trees around the pens. It was
seconded
9. Club house
repairs. We need to replace all of deadbolts with panic bars on
all of the outside doors, the upstairs light need to be replaced with
ones that have covers, replace the tiles in the kitchen and the
capacity signs need to replaced and installed. Larry will find out
the cost for these items.
10.Other.
Youth Fishing.
They need $1,500.00 for the Bullfrog Youth fishing. Pookie made the
motion and Al May seconded it.
Kitchen Mats. 8
new floor mats for the kitchen at cost of $413.92 plus Larry’s
time to clean them.
Appreciation
Night. Make sure to invite Tillie and her husband, if you know of
anyone else that should be invited talk to Gary Buss.
West Central Area
Association of Land Conservation Committees have asked for half the
cost $325.00 to help pay for the rental of the Tour Bus. They also
asked for the use of the Clubhouse for their meeting Larry made the
motion to let them use the clubhouse for free, Dave Moore second it.
Chad made the motion to give the amount that is needed for the Bus
and Pookie second it.
We started the
Acorn fund. We need a name for this endowment if you don’t
like Lower Chippewa River as a name. Scott made the motion to form a
committee to come up with a name for the endowment they will be
meeting April 6th @ 6pm. The committee will present their
chose at the next Executive Committee meeting.
Invest the Club’s
Money. Larry Lapp, Wayne Wilson, Al May, and Al Finder will meet and
investigate the best options.
It has been
brought to several members that some of our guests have a problem
with the off-color language at some of our events. Please try to
stop this.
Larry asked for
$500.00 for the Muzzleloader shoot. Scott made the motion and Dave
Moore second it.
The Committee was
asked to remove some of the trees at the west side of the clubhouse
to enlarge the parking area.

Thank you card for Jess and Sara Carstens for the fruit basket they
got on the birth of their son Jacob.

Wisconsin Conservation voted our Club as the No. 1 Club of the year.

Paul Jacobson presented the Executive Committee report.
6. DNR Report – Chad Mogen
A
North Dakota man is being charged with the killing a hibernating bear
out of season. This is the one that was reported of being killed with
a Combine in November 2008.
Holland
made the motion to send a letter to the DA in support of the DNR.
Duke seconded this motion. Wayne volunteered Al May to write the
letter.

E. Rifle Range/Hunter Safety – Duke Holmberg

Donations since December is $157.00 to make a total of $3,000.00 in
the range account. Cleaning and repair meeting is April 25th,
at8am.
c) We need a link
from the Club website to the Pistol Club’s website.
F. Fish Cribs – Dave Peachmiller
We had one
meeting where we drilled the holes in the logs and then used cement
blocks to sink the cribs.
Jeff Peabody
made the motion to buy more cement blocks for next year from County
Material Corp. for $348.15 Mike seconded it.
G. Menomonie Deer Herd – Al Finder

West Central Area Association of Land Conservation asked for, and

Bob Stratton made the motion to have a Pancake Breakfast on April
19th from 8:30-11am. Jerome seconded

Don Thompson to get the facts on the design and pricing on new
brooder.
d)
Holland is asking to use the clubs raffle license for another
fishing contest. Pookie made a motion that we will allow (Pookie)
checks with the licensing rules, and Martha seconded this.
